VS Code 1.139.0 restores agent activity that IDEs using the Copilot SDK for agent mode had left out of usage metrics.
Why it matters. Activity from unpatched IDEs cannot be recovered later, so roll out VS Code 1.139.0 and later fixed plugins quickly if you track agent adoption.

The Agent tool takes an effort parameter, and claude plugin install accepts --marketplace to add a marketplace and install from it in one step.
Why it matters. Local stdio MCP servers now negotiate protocol 2026-07-28 by default, so set MCP_PROTOCOL_NEGOTIATION=legacy if an older server breaks.

POST /v1/decisions turns text or base64 images into typed answers for yes or no checks, single choices and scores.
Why it matters. Classification and routing jobs pay only for input at $0.10 per million tokens, and OpenAI Python SDK 3.26.0 already supports it.
